The Pennsylvania Departments of Labor & Industry and Health plan to announce a new initiative on Monday, providing on-the-spot birth certificates at PA CareerLink locations. This program aims to assist more Pennsylvanians in quickly obtaining the documents needed to enter the workforce.

The pilot program will commence at the PA CareerLink Lancaster County location and will initially serve individuals who have pre-registered. This initiative is part of the Shapiro Administration's effort to invest in the workforce and reduce employment barriers, specifically the absence of state-issued birth certificates.

According to the announcement, the service will expand later this year and will be available at additional locations during PA CareerLink Awareness Days.

L&I Secretary Nancy A. Walker and DOH Secretary Dr. Debra Bogen will be present for the launch.

The event is scheduled for Monday, April 28, 2025, at 1:00 PM at PA CareerLink Lancaster County, located at 1046 Manheim Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601. Media representatives planning to attend are advised to RSVP via email to dlipress@pa.gov with team members' names and phone numbers.
