Lt. Gov. Austin Davis, along with the state Department of Community and Economic Development representatives, visited Berwick and Lewisburg recently to promote economic revitalization initiatives. The Shapiro-Davis Administration aims to rejuvenate the downtown areas through the Main Street Matters program, enhancing local small business operations.

Lt. Gov. Davis emphasized the significance of the investments. "I'm thrilled that the Coblentz Corner Project - which is receiving nearly $700,000 in state funding - isn't just about rehabbing an old building," Davis stated. "It's about investing in the young people of Berwick and northeastern Pennsylvania. Governor Shapiro and I want every Pennsylvania community to be a place where businesses can grow and young people can thrive."

The initiative, Coblentz Corner Project, is set to receive close to $700,000, aimed to bolster not just infrastructure but also community engagement among young residents of northeastern Pennsylvania.

Among those present were Robert Lewis, President of the Berwick Council; Dave Kovach, Columbia County Commissioner; Rich Kisner from the Community Strategies Group; and Ava Peters representing the Youth Action Board.
