The U.S. Department of Education announced the recipients of the 2025 Charter Schools Program (CSP) Replication and Expansion of High-Quality Charter Schools Grants. More than $87 million in funding will be distributed among eight awardees over the lifetime of these grants. This funding aims to support the expansion of high-performing charter schools nationwide. Currently, 8,150 charter schools educate over 3.7 million students in 44 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico.
Starlee Coleman, President and CEO of the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools, commented, "We are thrilled to see the U.S. Department of Education continue to invest in the growth of high-quality public charter schools through the Charter Schools Program. These grants will empower schools with a proven track record to reach more students—particularly those who have historically lacked access to excellent public schools. At a time when families are seeking more public school options, this funding is a critical step in meeting that demand and ensuring every child can attend a school that works for them."
