The South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) has announced a request for an extension of the availability period for fiscal year 2021 funding allocated to the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) program. This extension is being sought under Section 8401 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA).

The SCDE aims to extend the availability of these funds until December 31, 2027. This extension would apply to both the State Educational Agency (SEA) and all Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) involved in the program.

Stakeholders and members of the public are invited to review this waiver request. They can submit their questions and comments to Joyce Patterson, SCDE's 21st CCLC Team Leader, via email at jypatterson@ed.sc.gov. The deadline for submissions is set for 5 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025.
