Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz and Education Commissioner Charlene M. Russell-Tucker are calling on Connecticut businesses to join the Fourth Annual School Staff Appreciation Digital Backpack Program. This initiative invites businesses to offer discounts to school staff during the summer months.

The program, which has been held in previous years, aims to provide special discounts for all PK-12 school staff, including those in Adult Education programs. Eligible participants include bus drivers, paraeducators, administrators, school nurses, teachers, nutrition staff, counselors, psychologists, custodians, and other school ecosystem members.

The discount period will run from June through August. Businesses interested in participating can sign up by completing a form at https://forms.office.com/g/McdamZFQFH or visiting https://portal.ct.gov/digitalbackpack for more information.

Matthew Cerrone is the contact person for this initiative and can be reached at matthew.cerrone@ct.gov.
