Governor Josh Shapiro has announced a significant investment by the Commonwealth to support Kettle & Fire's establishment of its first company-owned manufacturing facility. The state is contributing over $4 million, which will aid in injecting more than $19.1 million into Lancaster County's economy and creating at least 149 new jobs.
The newly opened KettleWorks facility, located at 425 Ben Franklin Boulevard in Lancaster, covers 167,000 square feet and features advanced food production systems to accommodate the company's expanding product line. Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Secretary Rick Siger participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside Kettle & Fire leadership.
Governor Shapiro emphasized the significance of this development: "When a fast-growing company like Kettle & Fire chooses to build its first manufacturing facility right here in Pennsylvania, it shows that our Commonwealth has what it takes to compete and win in today's economy." He further stated, "From day one, my Administration has been focused on creating jobs, strengthening our agriculture and manufacturing sectors, and making Pennsylvania the best place to live, work, and grow a business - and this announcement is proof that our strategy is working. My Administration will continue to secure major investments in our economy, create jobs, and open up the doors of opportunity for more Pennsylvanians."
Speakers at the event included Brian Hack, CEO of Kettle & Fire; Justin Mares, Co-founder of Kettle & Fire; DCED Secretary Rick Siger; Armando Ramirez, Chief Operating Officer of Kettle & Fire; and Mark Fitzgerald, President and Chief Operating Officer of HREG.
