Kirsten Baesler Superintendent | North Dakota Department of Public Instruction
State School Superintendent Kirsten Baesler expressed her shock and sorrow over the death of State Representative Cynthia Schreiber-Beck. Baesler described Schreiber-Beck as a dedicated advocate for K-12 education, highlighting her role as a legislative adviser and confidant since Baesler's start as superintendent twelve years ago.
Schreiber-Beck served as vice chair of the North Dakota House Education Committee. In this position, she worked diligently to improve education policy, prioritizing the welfare of students and their families. Her absence will be felt both in the Capitol and in southeastern North Dakota, where she was known as a community leader.
Baesler stated: "Like her friends and colleagues, I was stunned to learn of the passing of state Rep. Cynthia Schreiber-Beck. Cindy was a fierce supporter of K-12 education, as well as a wise and trusted legislative adviser, confidant, and my friend, from the beginning of my tenure as state school superintendent a dozen years ago."
Reflecting on Schreiber-Beck's contributions, Baesler added: "As vice chair of the North Dakota House Education Committee, Rep. Schreiber-Beck was tireless in her work to produce better education policy, and she had the welfare of students and their families foremost in her mind."
The impact of Schreiber-Beck's leadership will be missed throughout the community.
