Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn attended a ceremony at Little Buffalo State Park in Perry County to honor the 2025 graduating class from the department's ranger and park manager trainee academy. The event included staff and family members.

"Our rangers and park managers are key to providing positive visitor experiences, in addition to their duties as sworn law enforcement officers," said Secretary Dunn. "We are proud of the Class of 2025. Their dedication and hard work during training have prepared them for long, successful careers in our state parks system, and I look forward to seeing their impact this summer and beyond."

The DCNR rangers and managers have an essential role in protecting public lands, educating visitors, and maintaining safe outdoor spaces. To equip them for these responsibilities, trainees undergo a 19-week program that covers visitor services, educational programming, equipment use, and law enforcement training related to park rules and Pennsylvania law.

Speakers at the event included Cory Johnson, POMD Section Chief; Judge Fredrick Cabell; Cindy Adams Dunn, Secretary of DCNR; and John Norbeck, Deputy Secretary of DCNR.
