Pennsylvania's Department of Aging is set to introduce a new initiative aimed at supporting the state's unpaid caregivers. The PA Carekit, designed to assist caregivers in addressing their unique challenges, will be launched at an event featuring state and local leaders.

The launch event will include a presentation on the PA Carekit and a panel discussion led by Secretary of Aging Jason Kavulich. The discussion will focus on caregiving in Pennsylvania and how this new resource can support the 1.5 million unpaid caregivers who provide care for friends, neighbors, and loved ones.

The development of the PA Carekit stems from "Aging Our Way, PA," a 10-year strategic plan intended to transform service delivery across the state, ensuring that all Pennsylvanians can lead healthy and fulfilling lives as they age.

Key figures attending the event include Senator Maria Collett, Representative Maureen Madden, Carrie Cleary from the Office of Commonwealth Libraries, Jennifer Haeussler-Barnhart from Montgomery County Area Agency on Aging, and Nathan Lampenfeld from the Department of Aging William & Hannah Penn Fellow.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Upper Dublin Library in Fort Washington. Media personnel interested in covering the event are required to RSVP with details of their attendance.
