Governor Josh Shapiro and Secretary of Aging Jason Kavulich are set to visit the White Rose Senior Center in York, Pennsylvania. They will announce a significant milestone achieved by the Shapiro Administration in its efforts to support older adults and enhance services for them.

Pennsylvania ranks fifth in the nation for its older adult population. Governor Shapiro's 2025-26 Budget Proposal continues to focus on protecting this demographic through investments in Pennsylvania's "Aging Our Way, PA" plan. This initiative is a 10-year strategic roadmap designed to address the needs of older Pennsylvanians.

The announcement event will feature several key figures including Bill Johnston-Walsh, AARP PA State Director; Cathy Bollinger from Age-Friendly York County; and Carmen Bell from United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 11:15 AM at the White Rose Senior Center located at 27 S. Broad Street, York, PA. It will be available via live stream on pacast.com/live/gov and governor.pa.gov/live/.

Press members interested in attending should RSVP with their names and phone numbers to ra-gvgovpress@pa.gov.
