Zoie Saunders, Secretary | Vermont Agency of Education
The Agency of Education (AOE) is set to launch a new licensing system for educators this summer. The Vermont Licensing System for Educators (VLSE) is expected to be operational by July, aiming to enhance the efficiency of the licensing process for educators in Vermont.
In collaboration with Level Data, which has developed similar software for other states, the AOE is currently testing and refining the new system. Various partners began testing the system in mid-May. As part of the rollout, training materials and manuals will be provided, with plans to offer training sessions to stakeholders in July.
Superintendents and Human Resource Directors will initially request temporary licenses through the existing ALiS software during the hiring season but will transition to using VLSE by late July.
The ALiS system's final day of operation is scheduled for July 1. A two-week blackout period will follow as data transfers are completed and verified before VLSE goes live around July 15.
Virtual training sessions for users of the new system are planned from July 21 to July 25. Further details regarding these sessions will be shared closer to their commencement.
