Illinois State Board of Education announces agenda for June business meeting

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) has released the agenda for its regular business meeting scheduled for June 11, 2025, in Springfield. The meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. and an information packet is available online.

Public participation requires signing up via an online form accessible from 9 a.m. until the start of the meeting on June 11. This form can also be completed at ISBE's location at 100 N. First Street in Springfield. Participants may choose to speak in person or over the phone by dialing 571-317-3112 with access code 919-127-637.

The meeting will be audiocast online, with a link provided on ISBE’s homepage under Top-Accessed Services when the meeting starts.

The agenda includes roll call and pledge of allegiance, consideration of participation requests by other means, swearing-in of board members if needed, public participation opportunities, presentations on strategic plans, and closed sessions as necessary.

Topics during closed sessions may involve personnel matters or litigation issues under specific legal guidelines. Public discussions regarding compensation increases for employees are exempt from closure under the Local Government Wage Increase Transparency Act.

The superintendent's report includes a consent agenda where routine items marked with an asterisk (*) will be approved collectively unless separate discussion is requested by any board member.

Additionally included are approvals of previous minutes from May 14, announcements and reports from senior staff and board members, as well as fiscal and administrative monthly reports among other informational items before adjournment.
