Austin A. Davis 35th Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania | Pennsylvania Department Of Education

Lt. Governor Austin Davis, along with the six Governor's Advisory Commissions, will be present in Harrisburg for the opening of the Souls Shot Portrait Project exhibit. The event is part of Gun Violence Awareness Month and will include participation from surviving family members, artists, and policymakers.

In recent years, gun violence and crime rates have shown a downward trend after peaking during the COVID-19 pandemic. Pennsylvania experienced a significant decrease last year. The Shapiro-Davis Administration has prioritized reducing gun violence by supporting law enforcement recruitment and training initiatives for nearly 1,500 officers. Additionally, they have increased funding for community-based programs aimed at violence reduction and established a state Office of Gun Violence Prevention.

The event details are as follows:

WHO: Lt. Governor Austin Davis; Ashley Walkowiak from the Governor's Advisory Commission on Women; Aubrey Fink from Souls Shot Portrait Project.

WHEN: Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 4:00 PM

WHERE: The State Library, 607 South Drive, Harrisburg PA 17120
