Zoie Saunders, Secretary | Vermont Agency of Education
The Agency of Education has announced the return of the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) for 2025. This initiative offers free meals to Vermont children aged 18 and under through various meal sites across the state. The program aims to support children's growth, health, and academic success by providing nutritious meals during the summer months.
In 2024, Vermont successfully served over one million meals at nearly 300 locations statewide. These meal sites are situated in diverse places such as schools, parks, housing complexes, and libraries.
Families seeking information on open meal sites can call 2-1-1, a resource hotline operated by United Way. Additionally, they can use the USDA Meals For Kids Site Finder or visit Hunger Free Vermont's website for county-specific site lists. All listed sites are accessible to all children up to age 18.
Information about these meal sites is updated weekly throughout the summer.
