The Vermont Agency of Education, in collaboration with Level Data, is set to conduct training sessions on the new Educator Licensing System, VLSE, on July 15. The sessions will be held via Zoom with a session for district users at 1 p.m. and another for general users at 3 p.m. Links to these Zoom sessions have been provided.

The training sessions will be recorded and made available for those unable to attend live.

The transition to the new software, Vermont Licensing System for Educators (VLSE), is scheduled for this summer. This upgrade aims to streamline the licensing process for educators in Vermont.

The Agency is working alongside Level Data, a company that provides similar software solutions across various states. Testing began in mid-May with several partners involved in the development process.

Training materials and state manuals are expected to be distributed as the software rollout progresses. The target month for providing training to stakeholders is July.

During the hiring season, superintendents and Human Resource Directors will initially request temporary licenses through the current system, ALiS. However, they will switch to using VLSE by late July.

ALiS will cease operations on July 1, followed by a two-week blackout period as data transitions occur. The new system is anticipated to be fully operational around July 15 after all data transfers are verified.
