Shapiro Administration officials have underscored the importance of ensuring children have sufficient food throughout the year. They highlighted Pennsylvania's continued participation in the SUN Bucks program, a federally funded summer benefit aimed at assisting eligible families in purchasing fresh food and groceries from retailers across the state.

Catherine Stetler, Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Department of Human Services, and Dr. Carrie Rowe, Acting Secretary of the Department of Education, joined partners from Feeding Pennsylvania and the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank to promote this initiative. The SUN Bucks program is now in its second year and marks Pennsylvania's second time participating.

The event featured several speakers including Catherine Stetler, Dr. Carrie Rowe, Julie Bancroft from Feeding PA, Shila Ulrich from Central PA Food Bank, Representative Dave Madsen, and Sarah DeSantis representing Justin C. Fleming's Office.
