Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn and Department of Labor & Industry (L&I) Secretary Nancy A. Walker are scheduled to visit the Pennsylvania Outdoor Corps crew at Kings Gap Environmental Education Center in Cumberland County on July 31, 2025.

The Pennsylvania Outdoor Corps is a workforce initiative that introduces individuals aged 15 to 25 to jobs in natural resource conservation. The program aims to educate participants about public service while providing them with job skills relevant to conservation careers.

Governor Josh Shapiro’s 2024-25 bipartisan budget included a $5 million allocation for the Pennsylvania Outdoor Corps. This funding is intended to expand the program’s operations and enhance career pathways in conservation for young people.
