Ken Rapp, Chief of Staff at Department of the Auditor General | Department of the Auditor General
The Pennsylvania Department of the Auditor General has been recognized as one of the state's "Greatest Places to Intern" by the Pennsylvania Chamber. The department was named among 50 organizations honored for their efforts in supporting student career development.
Ken Rapp, Chief of Staff for the Department of the Auditor General, accepted the recognition on behalf of Auditor General DeFoor. "We are extremely honored to receive this designation alongside 49 other organizations that are working to support the next generation of leaders," Rapp said. "Our Intern to Hire program gives students the opportunity to work with us, learn from our team and then after graduation, guarantees them a full-time job with our department. Since the launch of this program in 2022, there have been 13 interns who have joined the department full-time. Thank you to the PA Chamber for recognizing our commitment to creating impactful, work-based learning experiences for young Pennsylvanians so they can continue to live and work in the commonwealth."
Other speakers at the event included Luke Bernstein, President of the PA Chamber Foundation; Gabby Trucco, Executive Deputy Secretary at the Office of Administration; Holly Kosek, Head of Talent Acquisition at Lutron Electronics; Jack Miller, an intern at Mid Penn Bank; and Miranda Nace, an intern at PA Chamber of Business and Industry.
The department's Intern to Hire program began in 2022 and has led to several former interns securing permanent positions within the organization.
