North Dakota is continuing its BRIDGE initiative to update the way K-12 education data is collected, managed, and used across the state. As part of this effort, school districts are preparing for a transition to Infinite Campus as the new Student Information System (SIS).

The Department of Public Instruction has addressed several questions from local education agencies (LEAs) about the implementation process. LEAs will have access to four different site environments during the rollout: a training site with fictitious data for hands-on learning, a trial site for reviewing migrated real data, a production site for daily operations, and a sandbox site that mirrors production for safe testing.

Support from the implementation team will be available through the first few weeks of the new school year. Before classes begin, each LEA will be introduced to their Infinite Campus Client Relationship Manager and support process.

Infinite Campus brings experience from working on SIS projects in 10 states and over 3,000 districts nationwide. The approach in North Dakota includes an extended timeline compared to national averages, early and ongoing training opportunities, on-demand resources for staff, and a structured plan to minimize disruption between learning and using the system. The state has also developed a change management plan aimed at ensuring a smooth transition.

Schools have been advised to continue using their current systems for registration and calendar setup until July 2026. Data entered into existing systems will be included in the migration window scheduled from May 14 to July 22, 2026.
