Governor Shapiro to address progress on violence reduction in Chester City

Governor Josh Shapiro is scheduled to visit Chester City on September 17, 2025, where he will be joined by local and state law enforcement officials to discuss the administration’s efforts in reducing violence across Pennsylvania communities.

The event will feature Governor Shapiro alongside Colonel Christopher Paris, Commissioner of the Pennsylvania State Police; District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer of Delaware County; and Derrick Billups, Sr., CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Chester. The meeting will take place at the Chester Police Department.

According to the announcement, “Thanks to the Shapiro Administration's work to partner with local enforcement and increase funding for community-based violence-prevention initiatives, Delaware County and Chester City have seen major reductions in violence and progress on public safety.”
