Megan Degenfelder State Superintendent of Public Instruction | Wyoming Department of Education
Three public schools in Wyoming have been named as 2025 National Blue Ribbon Schools, an award that honors academic excellence and progress in closing achievement gaps. The Wyoming Department of Education announced the recognition, highlighting the achievements of Ralph Witters Elementary (Hot Springs County School District #1), Velma Linford Elementary (Albany County School District #1), and Wagonwheel Elementary (Campbell County School District #1).
State Superintendent Megan Degenfelder commented on the accomplishment, stating: “Congratulations to our 2025 Blue Ribbon Schools. Wyoming continues to lead the nation in education, and these three schools are shining examples of that.”
The recognized schools were selected in the category of Exemplary High-Performing Schools. Each school submitted a detailed application describing their school culture, curriculum, assessments, instructional practices, professional development, leadership, and involvement with families and communities. All three achieved high performance levels on state reading and mathematics assessments.
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program acknowledges both public and private elementary, middle, and high schools for either their high performance or significant improvement in closing achievement gaps among students.
