Pennsylvania Auditor General Timothy DeFoor is set to launch a new financial literacy contest for students from kindergarten through grade 12. The announcement will take place at the West Shore YMCA in Camp Hill as part of Financial Planning Month.
DeFoor will be joined by representatives from several organizations, including Nathan Brant, CEO of the Pennsylvania Alliance of YMCAs; David Ozmore, CEO of Harrisburg Area YMCA; Brad Simpson, CFO of CrossState Credit Union Association; and Greg Rudder, Executive Director of State YMCA of Pennsylvania.
The competition is part of the Auditor General’s ongoing efforts to promote financial literacy among young Pennsylvanians. According to DeFoor, the initiative is designed to give all residents access to resources that help them "Be Money $mart." The program involves collaboration with community partners such as the Pennsylvania Alliance of YMCAs and CrossState Credit Union Association.
The event is scheduled for Monday, October 6, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at the West Shore YMCA located at 410 Fallowfield Road in Camp Hill.
