Pennsylvania officials will announce new measures aimed at improving truck parking, enhancing safety for truck drivers, and supporting the movement of freight. The announcement marks the first statewide action on truck parking in Pennsylvania in several decades.
The event will feature remarks from Mike Carroll, Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT); Mark Compton, CEO of the Pennsylvania Turnpike; Major Robert Krol, Director of the Bureau of Patrol for the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP); and Rebecca Oyler, President and CEO of the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association (PMTA).
The announcement is scheduled for Monday, October 6 at 10:30 AM. It will take place at the Interstate 83 southbound PSP weigh station located at mile marker 32.4 in Newberry Township.
