The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) has announced the introduction of glamping accommodations in eight state parks, marking the first time this type of lodging will be available in the state's park system. The announcement was made by DCNR Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn, alongside Timberline Glamping Company owners Rebeka and Nathan Self, and Anne Ryan, Deputy Secretary of the Pennsylvania Tourism Office.

The new initiative is a public-private partnership with Timberline Glamping Company. It aims to update traditional camping by converting underused sites into glamping spaces that maintain a connection to nature while providing added comfort. The accommodations include safari-style tents equipped with real beds, electricity, climate control, decorations, and outdoor seating.

Reservations for these sites will open online starting tomorrow for stays beginning in Spring 2026. A total of 61 glamping sites will be available across Poe Valley, Hills Creek, Laurel Hill, Pymatuning, Codorus, French Creek, Hickory Run, and Promised Land state parks.

A preview event at French Creek State Park offered attendees an opportunity to view one of the fully outfitted tents and learn more about what visitors can expect from the new offering.

"This public-private partnership with Timberline Glamping Company reimagines the camping experience by transforming underused sites into comfortable, welcoming spaces while preserving the connection to the outdoors that defines Pennsylvania's state parks," said DCNR Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn.

The event was scheduled for October 7 at French Creek State Park. Those interested in attending were asked to RSVP via email.
