Josh Shapiro, Governor | Pennsylvania Government
The Shapiro Administration has introduced Pennsylvania's first glamping accommodations in state parks, providing visitors with new overnight options that blend outdoor experiences with modern comforts. The initiative, led by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), will add 61 glamping sites across eight state parks. Reservations for these sites are now available for spring 2026.
Glamping, which stands for "glamorous camping," offers amenities such as real beds, electricity, and climate control, enhancing the traditional camping experience in Pennsylvania's state parks.
Cindy Adams Dunn, Secretary of the DCNR, stated, "This new offering is another way we're ensuring that our state parks remain welcoming and enjoyable for all Pennsylvanians. By transforming underused campsites into beautiful glamping experiences, we're expanding overnight options in a way that's affordable, sustainable, and beneficial to local communities. These are truly places where adventure feels like home."
The announcement was made at French Creek State Park with representatives from Timberline Glamping Company, which is involved in the project. Other speakers included Kate Gundersen-Thorpe, French Creek State Park Complex Manager; Rebeka and Nathan Self, owners of Timberline Glamping Company; and Anne Ryan, Deputy Secretary of the Pennsylvania Tourism Office at the Department of Community and Economic Development.
The new glamping sites aim to attract a broader range of visitors to Pennsylvania’s state parks by offering both comfort and access to natural surroundings.
