The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry will hold a ceremony to rededicate The Pennsylvania Worker, a bronze sculpture that pays tribute to generations of workers in the state. The event will take place on October 8, 2025, at the Department of Labor & Industry headquarters in Harrisburg.
The ceremony is organized in partnership with the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO and the Pennsylvania Building and Construction Trades Council. Labor leaders will join to emphasize the administration's ongoing commitment to workers across the state.
Nancy A. Walker, Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry, Angela Ferritto, President of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO, Maurice Cobb, Secretary-Treasurer of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO, and William F. Duffy, the sculptor of The Pennsylvania Worker, are scheduled to participate in the event.
According to the organizers, the ceremony aims to honor past and present workers and to encourage future generations to continue contributing to Pennsylvania's workforce. The event highlights the importance of recognizing those who have shaped and continue to support the state's economy through their labor.
