Shapiro Administration announces results of Operation Safe Stop to promote school bus safety

Representatives from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Department of Education, West Shore School District, and West Shore Regional Police gathered to announce the results of the 2025 Operation Safe Stop initiative. The event took place at the West Shore School District Headquarters in New Cumberland.

The initiative aims to highlight school transportation safety and encourage drivers to operate vehicles safely around students and school buses. According to officials, ensuring that motorists are attentive near school buses is essential for student safety.

Speakers at the event included PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll, Cpl. Zeina Black of the Pennsylvania State Police Bus Safety Unit, Acting Secretary Dr. Carrie Rowe from the Department of Education, West Shore School District Superintendent Dr. Todd Stoltz, and Officer Brandon Stolley from West Shore Regional Police.
