Josh Shapiro, Governor | Pennsylvania Government
Governor Josh Shapiro is set to visit Fayette County on November 25, 2025, to discuss the newly established Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit. This initiative, included in the state budget signed by Governor Shapiro earlier this month, aims to provide $193 million in tax relief for nearly one million working residents across Pennsylvania.
The new tax credit will offer an amount equal to 10 percent of the federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). Residents who qualify for the federal EITC will automatically receive both credits when filing their 2025 tax returns. State officials say this measure is intended to lower taxes owed and increase take-home pay for working Pennsylvanians.
Joining Governor Shapiro at the event will be Kim Hawk, CEO of Fayette County Community Action Agency (FCCAA); Rose Comport, Nutrition Assistant with FCCAA WIC; Scott Dunn, Chairman of Fayette County Commissioners; and Senator Patrick Stefano of Pennsylvania's 32nd Senatorial District.
The event will take place at FCCAA headquarters in Uniontown. The proceedings are scheduled for 3:30 PM and can be viewed live online at pacast.com/live/gov or governor.pa.gov/live/.
