The North Dakota Department of Public Instruction (NDDPI) has provided new information to help school districts prepare for the transition to Infinite Campus, the state’s new student information system (SIS). The updates address data migration, immunization records, implementation teams, premium module options, changes in state reporting deadlines, and upcoming support sessions.

To facilitate the move from PowerSchool to Infinite Campus, NDDPI has contracted with Consultadd. This company will work directly with districts over the coming months to extract and migrate essential SIS data through a secure process that includes extraction, transformation, validation, and delivery for import into Infinite Campus. Districts are asked to designate a primary SIS contact and participate in scheduled data validation periods. NDDPI stated that all activities will comply with FERPA and state privacy laws.

More details about district-specific timelines are expected in the next few weeks as key milestones are finalized.

Regarding student immunization records, NDDPI clarified that while Infinite Campus can display immunizations within each student record, tracking this information in the system is optional for districts. The North Dakota Immunization Information System (NDIIS) remains the official source for these records. Districts may use an Immunization Import tool included in Infinite Campus to bulk import data if desired. A direct integration between NDIIS and Infinite Campus will not be available at launch in summer 2026; however, efforts continue toward long-term integration.

Districts are encouraged to expand their local implementation teams by working with their project leads as they plan for go-live. These teams will focus on planning, data conversion, training, configuration decisions, and workflow adjustments.

Infinite Campus offers several optional premium modules and integrations. While core features such as the Food Service module and Analytics Suite will be installed statewide for all districts—with usage remaining optional—other add-ons can be activated based on district needs.

To ease administrative pressure during this transition period, NDDPI has extended several state reporting due dates for the upcoming cycle:

- MIS01 (LEA Directory) / MIS02 (School Directory): moved from August 15 to September 15, 2026

- Summer School Enrollment: moved from September 1 to September 30, 2026

- MIS01/MIS02 Fall Reports: moved from September 5 to September 30, 2026

- Fall Calendar: moved from September 15 to September 30, 2026

Additionally, Title I Part D and McKinney-Vento applications previously due mid-June have been postponed until June 2027. Districts awarded grants in 2024 should continue using WebGrants until the next application cycle opens.

District staff are invited to attend BRIDGE Office Hours sessions on December 17 at noon or at 4 p.m. CST for further updates or questions regarding implementation.
