Report: St. George School District spent $9,860 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at St. George Community Consolidated School District 258 was up 22.3 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Kankakee County school district spent $8,060 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,860 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 462 to 420 students over the same period.

St. George's spending in 2019-20 was 32 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
