Report: Summersville School District spent $7,846 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Summersville School District 79 was up 7.7 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Jefferson County school district spent $7,284 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $7,846 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 284 to 304 students over the same period.

Summersville's spending in 2019-20 was 45.9 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
