Report: Newark School District spent $9,492 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Newark Community Consolidated School District 66 was up 6.7 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Kendall County school district spent $8,899 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,492 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 240 to 234 students over the same period.

Newark's spending in 2019-20 was 34.5 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
