Report: Effingham School District spent $10,332 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Effingham Community Unit School District 40 was up 19.7 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Effingham County school district spent $8,632 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,332 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 2,634 to 2,409 students over the same period.

Effingham's spending in 2019-20 was 28.7 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
