Report: Bethalto School District spent $9,360 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Bethalto Community Unit School District 8 was up 9.6 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Madison County school district spent $8,542 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,360 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 2,485 to 2,414 students over the same period.

Bethalto's spending in 2019-20 was 35.4 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
