Report: Unity Point School District spent $9,663 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Unity Point School District 140 was up 11 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Jackson County school district spent $8,708 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,663 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 705 to 650 students over the same period.

Unity Point's spending in 2019-20 was 33.3 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
