Report: New Athens School District spent $10,148 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at New Athens Community Unit School District 60 was up 8.3 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Saint Clair County school district spent $9,371 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,148 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 540 to 486 students over the same period.

New Athens's spending in 2019-20 was 30 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
