Report: Wilmington School District spent $13,213 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Wilmington Community Unit School District 209U was up 15.9 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Will County school district spent $11,403 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $13,213 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,438 to 1,224 students over the same period.

Wilmington's spending in 2019-20 was 8.8 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
