Education Daily Wire Nov 21, 2025

Lt. Gov. Austin Davis is scheduled to visit Monroe County on Monday, November 24, to discuss recent state investments in community safety initiatives. The visit will focus on the impact of the 2025-26 budget, which was signed into law earlier this month by Governor Josh Shapiro.

According to the announcement, the new state budget increases funding for the Violence Intervention and Prevention program by 10 percent and allocates resources for four additional Pennsylvania State Police cadet classes.

The event will include a roundtable discussion featuring Lt. Gov. Davis, representatives from the state Department of Health and Pennsylvania's Office of Gun Violence Prevention, Monroe County Commissioner John Christy, Monroe County District Attorney Mike Mancuso, as well as members from SAFE Monroe and Monroe County's Community Partnership for Gun Safety.

The roundtable is set to take place at 10 a.m. in Room 203 of the Monroe County Administrative Center in Stroudsburg. Media interested in attending are asked to RSVP with Kirstin Alvanitakis at kirstinalv@pa.gov.
