Report: South Central School District spent $10,451 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at South Central Community Unit School District 401 was up 1.6 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Marion County school district spent $10,290 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,451 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 649 to 664 students over the same period.

South Central's spending in 2019-20 was 27.9 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
