Report: Grass Lake School District spent $23,027 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Grass Lake School District 36 was up 12.3 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Lake County school district spent $20,514 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $23,027 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 185 to 165 students over the same period.

Grass Lake's spending in 2019-20 was 58.9 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
