Report: Johnston City School District spent $9,717 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Johnston City Community Unit School District 1 was up 31.5 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Williamson County school district spent $7,390 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,717 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,125 to 1,099 students over the same period.

Johnston City's spending in 2019-20 was 32.9 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
