Report: Edwardsville School District spent $9,275 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Edwardsville Community Unit School District 7 was down 0.9 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Madison County school district spent $9,362 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,275 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 7,568 to 7,548 students over the same period.

Edwardsville's spending in 2019-20 was 36 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
