Report: Serena School District spent $14,704 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Serena Community Unit School District 2 was up 7.6 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the La Salle County school district spent $13,667 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $14,704 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 666 to 627 students over the same period.

Serena's spending in 2019-20 was 1.5 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
