Report: Dupo School District spent $11,549 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Dupo Community Unit School District 196 was up 26.5 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Saint Clair County school district spent $9,132 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $11,549 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,108 to 1,004 students over the same period.

Dupo's spending in 2019-20 was 20.3 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
