Report: Monroe School District spent $8,567 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Monroe School District 70 was up 14.9 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Peoria County school district spent $7,455 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $8,567 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 315 to 301 students over the same period.

Monroe's spending in 2019-20 was 40.9 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
