Report: Winnebago School District spent $12,730 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Winnebago Community Unit School District 323 was up 31.2 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Winnebago County school district spent $9,702 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $12,730 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,400 to 1,340 students over the same period.

Winnebago's spending in 2019-20 was 12.2 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
