Report: Marissa School District spent $11,341 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Marissa Community Unit School District 40 was up 15.7 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Saint Clair County school district spent $9,803 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $11,341 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 617 to 522 students over the same period.

Marissa's spending in 2019-20 was 21.7 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
