Report: Deerfield School District spent $17,864 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Deerfield School District 109 was up 11.3 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Lake County school district spent $16,054 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $17,864 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 2,973 to 2,889 students over the same period.

Deerfield's spending in 2019-20 was 23.3 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
