Report: Morris School District spent $10,607 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Morris Elementary School District 54 was up 16.2 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Grundy County school district spent $9,127 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,607 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,178 to 1,173 students over the same period.

Morris's spending in 2019-20 was 26.8 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
