Report: Waukegan School District spent $15,182 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Waukegan Community Unit School District 60 was up 18.6 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Lake County school district spent $12,806 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $15,182 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 16,819 to 15,332 students over the same period.

Waukegan's spending in 2019-20 was 4.8 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
